SUMMARY
The primary purpose of this position is to support the facilitation and analysis of indirect procurement projects and realize savings more quickly through speed to market. Frequent independent judgments are essential. The incumbent is also required to perform all tasks in a safe manner consistent with corporate policies and state and federal laws.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The associate is responsible for the functions below, in addition to other duties as assigned:
* Collect and analyze data from internal and external sources in an effort to provide data to Strategic Sourcing, business users, and strategic partners.
* Develop complex models and evaluate opportunities based on total cost of ownership to provide to senior management the tools and information necessary to determine the best offer for Rite Aid.
* Identify and utilize data sources and apply broad knowledge base against client problem to solve or reengineer a process.
* Analyze business processes and identify opportunities to increase efficiency while reducing costs.
* Assist in the analysis of supplier marketplace data in order to create a competitive bidding environment.
* Create and review contracts and agreements to ensure they are in Rite Aid’s best interest and that they are written in correct legal language. This may include negotiations with suppliers to compromise on differences. Complete agreements are provided for senior review for agreement and approval.
* Identify benchmarks to project savings in the support of savings projections to determine the forecast plan for the IPG group.
* Create presentations to communicate the progress and final result of all projects to managers, directors, and executives.
* Communicate project progress to functional team members to ensure that deliverables and milestones are delivered on schedule.

* Ability to work weekends on an occasional basis.
Familiarity with industry/technical terms and processes.
Education:
Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in Supply Chain Management or Purchasing is required, a Master’s (MA/MS) in Business is preferred, plus three (3) years' experience in Procurement or Strategic Sourcing; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
