The incumbent is also required to perform all tasks in a safe manner consistent with corporate policies and state and federal laws.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES\nThe associate is responsible for the functions below, in addition to other duties as assigned:\n* Analyze sales results on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis.\n* Manage incremental income, including invoicing, coops, markdown monies, coupon redemption, single check rebate, temporary price reductions, and scan backs.\n* Assist with ad planning, buy plans, and collaborative planning systems.\n* Oversee the active items, discontinued items, and promotional purchases in inventory.\n* Assist in the development of retail pricing strategies.\n* Interact with suppliers with regard to assortment selection and promotion activities.\nAssist with the development of off shelf promotions.\nExperience / Requirements:\nOther Skills, Abilities, and/or Training\nThe following qualities are required:\n* Minimum age of 18 years old due to education and experience required.\n* Ability to pass drug test.\n* Committed to providing customer service that makes both internal and external customers feel welcome, important, and appreciated.\n* Ability to preserve confidentiality of information.\n* Ability and willingness to move with purpose and a strong sense of urgency.\n* Accuracy and attention to detail.\n* Ability to organize and prioritize a variety of tasks/projects.\n* Ability to work within strict time frames and resolute deadlines.\nThe following qualities are helpful:\n* Proficiency with the Microsoft\u00aeOffice Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access).\n* Ability to work weekends on a regular basis.\n* Ability to work extended days on a frequent basis.\n* Ability to work any shift.\nEducation:\n\nBachelor's degree (BA/BS) in Business, plus five (5) years' experience in retail buying; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
