Job Description:

SUMMARY
The primary purpose of this position is to manage the operation of an individual store in an efficient manner while maximizing sales, margin and profitability. Enforce company policies and procedures while ensuring directives and all daily activities deliver against the expected operating standards, merchandising programming and budgeted financial targets, and promotes and drives customer service. Successful performance of this position requires the performance of managerial tasks with independent judgment and discretion. The incumbent is also required to perform all tasks in a safe manner consistent with corporate policies and applicable laws.
Experience / Requirements:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
In exercising his or her independent judgment and discretion, the associate is responsible for performing the functions below, in addition to other duties as assigned:

• Lead store associates through the execution of company business plans/objectives to drive sales, be profitable and provide a superior customer and associate experience.
• Attend to opening and closing the store and maintaining proper accountability for cash handling and company banking.
• Manage an individual store while meeting store retail budgeted sales, margin, labor, expenses and overall P&amp;L monthly results to ensure operating EBITDA and income are achieved.
• Ensure via the use of Staffworks/Work force Management that labor is scheduled to meet customer service needs and complete operating activities and ensure the same standards of operation are enforced in the pharmacy department.
• Interview, hire, train, direct, reward, and discipline associates; appraise associate performance; and resolve complaints.
• Provide leadership and development for associates by communicating career opportunities, providing regular performance feedback, and demonstrating SMILE and RAPTAR behaviors to both external and internal customers and associates.
• Manage the adherence to all regulatory and compliance legislation and policies.
• Direct and assist associates in performing all job duties necessary to provide a clean, safe, and pleasing environment to customers and associates by following company standards for safety regulations and overall store appearance both inside and outside of the store; maintain and follow rules in Clutter Free.
• Maintain merchandise standards according to the POMP manual, profit planner, corporate plan-o-grams and ongoing merchandise information.
• Supervise the preparation and accountability of retail store physical inventory and for developing action plans to achieve expected results.
• Manage the store’s vendor relationships.
• Responsible for price accuracy of goods in the store.

Education:




Education and/or Experience
Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in Business, or a minimum of four (4) years’ experience in retail, or one (1) year management experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Job Description:

The associate is responsible for the functions below, in addition to other duties as assigned:
1. Lead all corporate initiatives focused on the associate experience.
2. Manage and facilitate the Associate Satisfaction survey/action planning.
3. Lead process initiatives and ongoing focus on turnover solutions including interacting with regional management teams to discuss their labor requirements and training needs and to identifying and creating strategies to reduce associate turnover.
4. Provide leadership and development for associates by communicating career opportunities, providing regular performance feedback, and demonstrating RAPTAR (Recognition, Appreciation, Praise, Treat Associates Respectfully) behaviors.
5. Manage all relevant and defined associate issue processes, investigations, and related matters.
6. Perform timely follow up and resolution of associate hotline calls and emails through Contact the Board and Rite Call.
7. Support Regional business needs related to the Human Resources function.
8. Interact with Operations Managers, Loss Prevention, and the Labor Relations departments to monitor compliance with labor union regulations and investigate labor union grievances.
9. Monitor the compliance of company, state, and federal employment laws within the region.
10. Review the disciplinary process and all terminations with regional management teams to eliminate potential liability and enhance processes.
11. Assist with associate transitions for pourover, acquisition, and liquidation stores.
Experience / Requirements:

Proficiency with the Microsoft® Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), Internet Explorer, and Outlook.

This position requires a valid driver's license for business travel.

This position requires completion of the following certifications after the date of hire:
OSHA Trainer certification.
Certified Professional Food Manager (CPFM) Instructor certification (California only).
Education:

Associate's Degree (AA) in Business or Human Resources, plus two (2) to five (5) years experience in Human Resources or as a Human Resources Generalist; or equivalent combination of education and experience. A Bachelor's Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) in Business or Human Resources is preferred.
